Pros and cons of Yoga Trainer Lite app for iPhone and iPad

Yoga Trainer Lite app good for

I got this app 5 days ago and it is absolutely amazing! I do the daily warmup yoga in the morning and the ab excercises at night. I can definitley see a flatter tummy and more defined abs. Great great great!!!!
New version fixes everything with lots of good new content and no longer crashes on 4.0
Once I got this app it downloaded very fast about the fastest of all my apps. I thought it was going to be a waste cause of how fast it loaded but it was great! I now do yoga every day using my iPhone and this app! 
Yeah its a little big but I guess I have good wifi it wasnt too bad plus it was total worth the download time. I really like this app.
I use a 2nd Generation iPod touch/Ver 4.2.1 and the app runs well for me. It may take a while to download for some with slower internet, but a quick tv session should pass by some time. There are instructions on how to do each pose and even a handy video demonstration on some. Plus, it introduces yoga for beginners with some terminology and gives an overview of what yoga is. THIS APP IS A STEAL and Im grateful its free. The users, or attempted users of this apps, have tech issues, not the app itself.
I have had this app for a few years and it has lots of poses and features for being free. Heres what i have found to be useful: + Do not download this app on your iDevice! It is quite a large app and downloading it on your computer first is the easiest (and usually faster) way to go. Your device does enough work as it is, why make it chug through this download? + Turn on airplane mode when you use the app. It will make the ads disappear and limit distractions. For being a large app it surprisingly doesnt have the ads saved for offline use so take advantage of that. + Resist flipping through the poses and sections too much, otherwise the app may crash. Of course you may need to do this to familiarise yourself with the app but after that just select a course and let it do its thing. Pressing pause on a pose has not made it crash for me but quickly flipping backwards or forwards through a course could make it crash. + If the defult 45 seconds is too little time for most poses, simply lengthen the time between poses in Settings instead of adjusting individual time goals. Use the longer in-between time as extra time for each pose. + If the voice alert is too loud or undesired, turn it off in the settings. + I have found that the end ding is difficult to hear if your device is also playing music or sound at the same time. I recommend playing ambient sound on a separate device/computer so that you can turn up the volume in the app if needed. I hope these help! Remember to have a little patience and this app should work out for you. Im not sure why it would be crashing on some peoples devices. It has always worked fine on my ipod touch 2nd and 5th generations. The photos and artwork do look a little pixelated on a retina display, but it is a simple and useful app for yoga. Namaste!

Some bad moments

The warm up had the same 9 or 10 poses. The random. Showed the same 5 or 6. The shake didnt work which I presume was suppose to aid you to choose a new pose. Just not enough to choose from. The heart chakra meditation for 20 mins. is overkill. Its not required on the app.
I had the previous version for awhile and really enjoyed the three different courses it allowed you to choose from, one for abs, one was a daily warm up and there was another, I dont remember the title. With the new version there is one option, just the daily warmup, so in stead of gaining more options you loose options. I would not recommend it
When I open the app it loads for around 5 secs and then closes
I like doing my iPhone yoga with earbuds in and the computer generated voice is horrible - I cant listen to it. Tried using the FAQ and it just says I need an Internet connection to use FAQ even though I am connected to wifi and have 4 bars of service. Uninstalling this app now, there has to be a better choice.
Pop-up ads! Admittedly when designing your yoga sequence or choosing one of the pre-made ones, they wont pop-up mid sequence, but still, intensely intrusive and NOT conducive to any kind of contemplative/meditative state. Apart from which, they arent even smart-ads - they arent connected to yoga or anything else of my interest. The poses themselves: not once did the "Pose Info" button shown on the preview pages here come up! So what you end up with is a sequence of pictures of poses with a dicombobulated voice saying what they are and no explanation - useless to both beginners who need full explanations and advanced yogis/yoginis who need fine tuning. Would have liked to have given it zero stars.
This was great, until the last update. Ads are everywhere! You cant see the poses until the ad is shown and by then your pose it half over. It also started freezing up and causing problems with my phone. After deleting it, my phone is now working fine. If you would enjoy a frustrating yoge session, then this app is for you.
